Parallelstructure means making sure that the series of words in a sentence are in agreement or in line with each other. The best way to understand this is by looking at some
examples:
I really enjoy watching plays, writing papers and listening to the school band.
My mother particularly likes to dance,go out to restaurants and spend time with the family.
As you will notice, all of the verbs in the above sentences have the same form, and so can
be said to agree with each other. Many students lose points in the IELTS test because of
simple agreement errors such as the following:

To sound like a native and to improve your score on your speaking test, it’s good to show
slight comparison, contrast and consequence between ideas and feelings using transitional
or linking words.
